Our agency owner, Mark is no stranger to the small town life of the Texas Panhandle. He grew up farming and ranching with his family in Hall county and when he wasn’t farming, he could be found representing the Memphis Cyclones in multiple sports. Mark’s insurance career began in 1995 as an all-lines adjuster for Crawford and Company. During that time, he grew his reputation as an adjuster and in 1997, he was hired as the Field Representative and Claims Adjuster for the Texas Panhandle territory for Hochheim Prairie Insurance. In 2003, Mark founded Ward Insurance Agency by purchasing his first two books of business from his mentors, Don Glenn of Glenn Insurance Agency in Amarillo and Carl D. Kleman of Kleman Insurance Agency in Nazareth. With over 25 years of experience as an insurance adjuster and agent, Mark’s greatest strength is his willingness to always put the customers’ needs first and he enjoys meeting with his customers face to face to build long lasting relationships.

Mark has been married to his wife, Leigh Ann, for 32 years and together they have one daughter, Haleigh, and a dog named Freddie. His favorite thing to do is watch his two grandsons, Jack and BK, grow up in Canyon. He also enjoys playing golf, shooting pool, traveling and eating at hole in the wall restaurants.

Leigh Ann grew up in Wellington, Texas. Her insurance career started in 1995 working for Roy Hunter as a Customer Service Representative. Leigh Ann then went to work for Firstcare for seven years starting as a Claims Processor worked her way up to a Claims Supervisor. In 2003, Leigh Ann left Firstcare and helped Mark achieve his goal of starting his own agency.

Leigh Ann has been married to Mark for 32 years and together they have one daughter, Haleigh, and a dog named Freddie. If she’s not on the golf course, you can find her spending time with her two grandsons.

As a proud Canyon native, Haleigh values building a life in the community where she was raised. After graduating from Canyon High School, Haleigh continued her education at Texas Tech University and graduated with a degree in Communication Studies. In July of 2012, Haleigh came to work for Ward Insurance Agency and truly believes it was one of the best decisions she has ever made. She enjoys getting to work alongside her family and help grow the business her parents built from the ground up. Haleigh enjoys getting to talk with all the customers and build personal relationships with each and every person she comes across.

Haleigh is married to her husband, Jarrett, and together they have two boys, Jack and BK. She enjoys spending time with her boys and watching them play sports, playing golf, traveling and reading.
